| Raggamuffin, Karimouche'clip directed by Fred Aujas couldn't exist if the Machineurs, a director network, hadn't win a JVC GY 110E HDV camera during the HD Film Festival 2006.
...Otherwise, in the same category, Vacuity (Six Pieds sur Terre Production - directed by Julien Mokrani & Samuel Bodin) is the first content collected by the Festival and shooted with a RED camera |

| The 2008' preselection lasted 2 days more over than expected. We received a lot of contents the few days before the registration dead line and we had to manage with... The HD Film Festival collected 164 programs for its beginning. It was quite hard ( but also delicious!!!) to see all of them and to select around 30 programs for the preselection!

| Members of the Club HD are currently examining all the competing productions, in order to select 4 or 5 finalists in each category. A jury will then pick the winners. In 2008, the official HD Film Festival jury includes: -Gérard Krawczyk, cinema director (président of the jury) -Francine Levy, head of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière -Fanny Rondeau, head of fiction programmes on France 2 -Hervé Chateauneuf, general delegate of FICAM -Gilles Flourens, from the training department of the INA, in charge of editing, post-production, special effects and cinematography -Gérard Denis, head of agency Denis & Co and spokesman for the Anaé (association of event communication agencies) -Caroline Champetier and José Gérel, directors of photography -Laurent Zellig, sound engineer |

| A 2008 edition livelier than ever…
The HD Film Festival 2008’s request for films has just ended, allowing us to make an early status report. This 2008 edition is yet another demonstration of the producers’ will to master high-definition technologies, as it will gather 163 films in all categories, totalling over a hundred hours of contents for the competition (up from 134 films and 89 hours of content in 2007! ). Many thanks to all participants for their enthusiasm! (To be continued…)

| Like every year, several well-known sponsors and partners have renewed their support.
Companies involved in this event include Avid, Sony, Panavision Alga, the “Club de l’Étoile” venue, TSF, Tatou, Tapages, Station Service and Avance Rapide.
These manufacturers and contractors will reward the winning producers with exceptional gifts. Let us remind that in 2007, the contest winner – Jean-François le Corre, producer of Vivement Lundi – had been awarded a week of filming with Panavision and a day of grading by Transatlantic, for his animated short film "The Day of Glory".
This festival has been recognized as a major professional event, and as such will be supported this year by the CNC (France’s cinema authority), TVFI (TV France International), the Anaé (French association of event communication agencies) and Arte (French and German cultural TV station).
